What is Oral Health?
Oral health refers to the condition of your mouth, including your teeth, gums, tongue and the overall health of your oral cavity. Maintaining good oral health is important for preventing dental issues like cavities, gum disease and bad breath. Regular dental hygiene practices, such as brushing, flossing and regular dental checkups are essential for maintaining optimal oral health.

A very proactive initiative aimed at promoting good oral health practices and educating learners about the importance of taking care of their teeth and gums, was conducted by masters of public health students from GD Goenka university, in one of the government school in the outskirts of New Delhi, India. The campaign typically involved activities like ,oral health demonstrations, which basically involved professional demonstrating to the kids and teaching them how to properly brush and floss their teeth as well as explaining the importance of balance diet for oral health.
Activities Conducted at the Campaign
Dental check-ups and provision of informative dental information to the learners by the professional Dentist, Dr Sakshi. Distribution of oral health kits, like toothpaste, toothbrushes as well as pamphlets to encourage regular oral hygiene. Interactive activities for instance games and engaging activities that teach the kids about oral health in an enjoyable way. And lastly the students tried their level best in promoting healthy habits, by simply encouraging the learners to reduce sugary snacks and beverages, as they can contribute to dental problems. The campaign was a success, it really helped instill good oral hygiene habits at early age, leading to healthier smiles and overall well-being for the learners as they grow.
