Every year on the final day of February, there is a celebration known as World Rare Disease Day to bring attention to rare diseases and the effects they have on patients and their families. When compared to more frequent diseases, rare diseases, usually referred to as orphan diseases, affect a comparatively small number of persons. Despite the rarity of any individual condition, rare diseases collectively have a major global impact.
World Rare Disease Day is a significant chance to raise awareness of the difficulties experienced by people with rare illnesses and their families, as well as to promote cooperation and support among the medical profession, the pharmaceutical sector, and society at large.

Awareness Campaign on Photophobia in GDGU University
A disorder called photophobia, commonly referred to as light sensitivity, is characterized by an unusual sensitivity to light. Even at normal or modest levels of light, photophobic people might suffer discomfort, inflammation, or irritation in their eyes. Squinting, blinking, crying, headaches, and even migraines might result from this. The intensity of photophobia varies from person to person and can be a sign of many different underlying disorders.
We conducted a street play on this rare disease to make the audience aware about its condition & how to treat them, what are the precautionary steps that 1 should take in order to prevent this phobia.
In this Street play, we showed a guy who was continuously suffering from its symptoms and was also hiding it from his parents.
His symptoms were severe pain in eyes, head ache, blurry eyes.
These were all exaggerate by his habits of Continuous using phone in the dark/night while sleeping.
Ultimately, when he couldn’t take it more he went to the doctor with his mother. Doctor made him aware about his condition “Photo phobia” a rare disease which is also called “light sensitivity”
He was then guided by the doctor of Things to do & things not do.
